Photo Gallery: Our Preschool & Daycare in DLF Phase 3, Gurugram

A look inside the classrooms, play zones, dining area and sleeping area at Discover First Step in Sector 24. Tap any photo to see it larger.

Classrooms and learning spaces

Our classrooms are open, bright learning centres rather than rows of desks. Children move between activity areas during the morning: a table for fine-motor work, a rug for circle time, a corner for books. That movement is deliberate, because young children concentrate better when they can choose and change. The Montessori Lab holds hands-on materials for independent work, while the children's library and dance room fill the day with stories, rhymes and movement. When you visit, look at what's on the walls. Children's own work, not shop-bought posters, is a good sign that learning is active.

Play and movement zones

Few preschools in this part of Gurugram put as much space into movement, and it shows in how children play. The Wall Climbing Zone, Trampoline Park, Ninja Pit and Gross Motor Play Zone are part of the regular week and used under supervision in age-appropriate ways. Climbing and bouncing build the core strength and balance children need later to sit still and hold a pencil. The Ninja Pit, meanwhile, is where obstacle courses turn into adventures. These spaces are also why many families choose us for after-school care: school-age children arrive with energy to burn and somewhere good to burn it.

Care, food and rest

The parts of the day that parents worry about most, like meals, naps and settling in, deserve a look too. Food is prepared in the centre's own kitchen and eaten together in the dining area at child-sized tables. Full-day children rest in a dedicated sleeping area. Our youngest daycare children, from six months, have soft, safe indoor and outdoor infant play areas. You'll also see child-height washrooms if you visit, a small detail that makes a real difference to independence.

Photos are a start; a visit tells you more

Photographs can show you space, light and equipment. They can't show you how a teacher speaks to a nervous three-year-old, how calm the dining area feels at lunch, or whether your own child's eyes light up at the climbing wall. That is why we encourage every family to visit before deciding. A short walkthrough answers questions no photograph can, and it gives your child a first, low-pressure look at the place where they may soon spend their days.

On a walkthrough, you can:

  • See classes and daycare groups in progress on a weekday, or tour at a quieter pace on a Saturday.
  • Ask how live CCTV streaming works and which spaces it covers.
  • Look at the kitchen, dining area and sleeping area for yourself.
  • Talk through which program suits your child: preschool classes from Play Group to UKG, Grade 1 and 2, or daycare and creche from six months.

The centre is in DLF Phase 3, Sector 24, a short drive from Cyber City, Nathupur and Sikanderpur. Find directions from your nearest landmark, or read more about our facilities and safety measures.

How these spaces come together in a real day

Seen one by one, the photos can look like a list of rooms. In practice they connect through the day. A Nursery morning might start on the circle-time rug, move to the Montessori Lab for focused work, pause for a snack in the dining area and end with a burst of energy in the Gross Motor Play Zone before story time. For full-day children, the afternoon adds lunch, a rest in the sleeping area and a quieter stretch in the reading centre or at the art and craft table before pick-up.

That rhythm of busy then calm, together then independent, is what the Dynamically Balanced Curriculum is designed to create. It is also why the centre has so many different kinds of space in one building. Children who have been climbing need somewhere to settle afterwards, and children who have been concentrating need somewhere to run. You can read how a typical morning is planned on our curriculum page.

This gallery will grow through the year with classroom projects, celebrations and sports days. For everyday moments from across the Discover First Step network, follow the brand on Instagram and Facebook.

Come and see it in person

Weekday visits show the centre in full swing; Saturdays are quieter, with day care running and no preschool classes.
